[A] student at Kirkbie Kendal School has been awarded a special prize by local accountants, Lamont Pridmore, for his work on his A Level Business course.
Sam Jackson was presented with a special trophy by Karl Burrell, Managing Director at the firm’s office in Kendal, after teachers praised him for his hard work and commitment to the course.
They said that he had consistently focussed on his business work demonstrating a high level of analytical and evaluative discussion of business decision-making. He aims to further his business studies at university and beyond.
Last year, Karl presented the same trophy to his brother James, who had also proved to be an excellent business studies student.
The latest Kirkbie Kendal school awards, which have been supported by Lamont Pridmore for a number of years was held at the Kendal Leisure Centre and saw a number of former pupils walk away with trophies.
Speaking after the awards ceremony, Karl said: “It seems that the talent for business runs throughout the Jackson family and I was delighted to hand this trophy over to Sam.
“Having spoken with his teachers, it is clear to me that he has put a lot of work into the course and been very diligent in his studies. I would like to congratulate him on being named Business Student of the Year 2017.”
Graham Lamont, Chief Executive at Lamont Pridmore, added: “We have a long and proud history of supporting schools across Cumbria and I would like to join the rest of the team in celebrating Sam’s achievements – I am sure he has a bright career ahead of him.”
