Bomb disposal called to suspicious item found in Bolton

[O]fficers are responding to reports of a suspicious item found on Appledore Drive, Bolton.

At around 11.55am today, Friday 22 September 2017, police were called to reports that a suspicious item had been found in a gully.

A spokesman for GMP said: “Officers are at the scene awaiting bomb disposal officers and a cordon has been put in place.

“Several roads have been closed including Appledore Drive, Croyd Close, Saunton Avenue, Lime Tree Drive and Stitch Mi Lane as a precautionary measure.

“Officers will remain at the scene and it is not thought to be terrorism related.”
