Police appeal after outboard motor stolen on Ullswater


[P]olice are investigating an incident that occurred on Ullswater near the Sharrow Bay Hotel.

Thieves cut the lock on a rowing boat which was stored between the road and lake near Sharrow Bay then used it to row moored up boats on the lake.

Thieves climbed on board one of the boats and cut the wires of the outboard motor before stealing it.

The incident occurred sometimes between the evening of Friday 22 September and the afternoon of Sunday 24 September.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who observed the incident taking place, they are also trying to trace the owner of the boat which was called ‘Longlines’.
