Kirby Misperton road blocked after fracking protester climbs on lorry

Habton Road in Kirby Misperton remains closed this afternoon, after a protester climbed on top of a heavy goods vehicle in the road at about 11.55am.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: “This irresponsible action is extremely dangerous. As a direct result, Habton Road is now closed, and diversions are in place, causing significant disruption to local people for several hours.”

Officers have spoken to the protester, but she has refused to come down.
