Person hurt in Salterbeck house fire

[A]t 7:56am today, Friday 29 September firefighters were called to a fire in a bedroom of a house on Shore Terrace, Salterbeck.

Two fire engines from Workington attended the incident.

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews, two wearing breathing apparatus, used one hose reel jet to put out the fire.

“They then checked the property using a thermal imaging camera.

“One casualty was treated by paramedics suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

“Crews were at the scene for 40 minutes.”
