Man charged with attempted murder after Workington stabbing

[A] man has been charged with attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the early hours of Friday 29 September at an address in Workington.

A 44-year-old man sustained multiple stab wounds to his head and body during an attack which occurred inside an address on Derwent Street at approx 1am.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment and has since been released.

James Hawmen, 37, appeared before Workington magistrates court on Saturday 30 September with an application to remand him in custody.
