[H]olker Hall is busy making final preparations for what is fast becoming one of the most popular dates in its seasonal events calendar. The Winter Market, taking place on the 4th & 5th November, has grown from a small selection of local producers to a bustling winter market attracting some of the best artisan producers in the North West.
This year’s event has attracted more exhibitors than 2016 and visitors can expect a fine selection of food, drink, home wares and craft. “We had a record number of enquiries this year for stand space and we’re finding that many of these are recommendations from previous exhibitors which is really good to hear – the event is building a great reputation”, comments Jillian Rouse, Head of Visitor Services.
Visitors will find a wide variety of producers and businesses attending, and timing couldn’t be better with Christmas not far away – the perfect excuse to stock up for the festive season.
Cumbria’s smallest gin company, Ulverston based, Shed 1 Distillery (recently featured in The Guardian), will be attending for the very first time with their small batch, big flavour gins. Kin Vodka, Kendal Mint Cake Liqueur and Hebridean Liqueurs will all also be ready to showcase their tasty products. Westmorland Sheepskins are also exhibiting for the first time – the place to visit for sheepskin slippers, gloves, hats, rugs and cushions, plus Kirkby Lonsdale based, Ellis & Eliza with their beautiful handmade and embroidered cards, stationery and gifts.
There will be plenty of lively entertainment for the crowds with Garry Gifford as Pete Moss, Andy Jester stilt walking and holding fun Circus Workshops, plus fire performances from Juggling Inferno and music from the Palladium Jazz Trio.
