[C]arlisle College have launched their new professional and short course training programme for 2017/2018.
Whether you are an individual looking to advance your career or a business looking to upskill your staff, Carlisle College are able to provide an extensive range of short & professional courses available throughout the year to suit your training needs.
The Professional & Short Course Guide includes a whole range of subject areas such as AAT accredited Accounting courses, ILM Level 3 & 4 Leadership & Management programmes, Level 2 2D Computer Aided Design, Welding, Electrical Vehicle Awareness, IT & Web Design, Introduction to Photoshop, as well as Health & Social Care courses including Disability Awareness and Care Planning Awareness and a Christmas Crafts Workshop.
As an individual or a business you may qualify for financial support or funding to cover the cost of training at Carlisle College. Depending on your circumstances, including if you are looking to enter the workplace, many courses are free or offer a discount even if there is a cost listed, with many FULLY FUNDED through The Edge project, to those eligible.
The Edge project offers funded training opportunities to Cumbrian businesses with less than 250 employees and their staff and aims to provide individuals with opportunities to develop the skills that will enable them to progress in employment. At the same time The Edge supports employers to take on and develop individuals to fill intermediate, technical and higher level skills gaps and shortages to enable growth, utilising to full effect the £8.5m worth of funding available. The Edge project is funded by the European Social Fund (ESF) via the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and Cumbria LEP.
In addition to the new professional and short courses programme, Carlisle College are pleased to announce that they will be offering a BSc Computing top-up degree from September 2018, allowing learners to complete a full degree in Computing right on their doorstep. The Computing top-up degree has been developed by the faculty of Computing, Engineering and Physical Sciences at UCLAN and will have its first intake in Sept 2018, whilst also allowing students currently completing a Foundation degree in Computing to continue with their studies.
Daniel Jeffrey, Computing Course Tutor said “With Computing continuing to grow and a shortage of skills in the sector, the need for employees with computing skills is in high demand, so it is fantastic that we are now able to offer learners this full computing degree without having to leave the county.”
