[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following a one vehicle collision on the A69.
It happened on the westbound carriageway between Haltwhistle and Haydon Bridge near Hexham, Northumberland at 2.58am, the early hours of Friday, October 27.
It involved an Audi A3 car, which for reasons yet to be established had gone off the road and struck a telegraph pole and a wall and became on fire, the driver left the scene.
Emergency services attended and the A69 was closed in both directions with local diversions in place.
The fire was extinguished and the road re-opened at just after 8am after the scene had been examined and the vehicle and debris removed.
Police searched the area but no occupants of the vehicle were found.
