[T]he family of a man who sadly died after a collision in Heywood have paid tribute to him.
At around 7.30pm on Saturday 21 October 2017, police were called to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Bury New Road, Heywood.
A blue Peugeot 206 had been travelling along the road towards Heywood, when it was involved in a collision with 78-year-old David Brooks, who was crossing the road.
David was taken to hospital for treatment but sadly died as a result of his injuries.
His family have said: “Our father was such a loving and genuine man, with a heart of gold.
“He was loved by everyone for being the fun loving character that he was and our hearts are broken by our loss.”
Police Constable Dermot Murray of GMP’s Serious Collision Unit, said: “My thoughts continue to be with David’s family and friends at this devastating time.
“I’m asking for anyone who was in the area, or who may have dash-cam footage to get in touch with police as soon as possible.”
