Family pay tribute to woman killed in A689 crash

Margaret Matthews

[T]he family of a woman who died following a road traffic collision on the A689 yesterday (1 Nov, 2017) have released a tribute.

Margaret Matthews, 74, died following a collision between a car and a HGV between Brampton and Linstock.

Margaret’s son Robert and two younger daughters Julie and Pauline paid tribute to their mum on behalf of her distraught husband Phillip saying: “Mum and Dad were inseparable in over 52 years of happy marriage. During that time she was a completely devoted wife and cherished her time with her family and grandchildren.

“Her sudden and tragic loss – and the sense of humour and kindness she brought into so many people’s lives – will leave an immense void in their hearts, none more so than dad’s. She will be so, so sorely missed.”
