[A] motorcyclist who died following a road traffic collision this morning on the B5305 has this evening been named as David Holden, 54, of Wigton.
A Mercedes car driven by a 23-year-old man from Wigton collided with a Yamaha motorcycle ridden by a 54-year-old man from the Wigton area.
An ambulance and air ambulance attended the scene. However, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries.
The Mercedes driver was treated at the scene and taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Mr Holden’s family said: “David leaves behind his wife Tracy, who describes him as “her rock” and was a brilliant and loving father to Kayley and Tyler.
“David will always remain in the hearts of his mother Ann, his five brothers and his nieces and nephews.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to make contact referencing incident number 30 of 2 November 2017.
