Penrith residents warned of cold caller targeting elderly and vulnerable

[T]he public are asked to be aware of a male who has been cold calling at addresses in the Cumbria area.

The man appears to be targeting elderly and vulnerable residents and claims to work for Hometech UK Ltd. He is wearing an ID badge and attempting to offer services in exchange for money. This is believed to be fraudulent.

Most recently he was seen knocking on doors on Maple Drive, Penrith, on Thursday 2nd November 2017. When his offer of services was declined he became mildly abusive, and initially refused to leave the area when requested to do so by a member of the public.

If a member of the public is approached by this male at their home address they are asked to make contact with Cumbria Police:

Email: [email protected]
Call: 101
Or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
