[L]ast year, Threlkeld Activities Association hosted their first Craft Fair in Threlkeld Village Hall and it went down a storm.
Over 300 visitors came and trading was brisk. Crafters and artists from Cumbria displayed and sold a wide range of quality items.
It was so successful that a second Craft Fair will be held this year on Sunday 19th November, open from 10am to 4pm with free entrance!
Once again, there will be about 15 stalls selling a wide range of crafts including textiles, knitting, crochet-work, honey and beeswax, paintings, bags, ceramics, glass-works, paper craft and cards. Last year, many visitors also took advantage of the Cumbria Tourism award winning coffee shop in the village hall which was working flat-out to keep up with demand around lunchtime and almost ran out of crockery.
This year, they will be prepared! Pat Knifton who had organised the event on behalf of Threlkeld Activities Association said: “We were thrilled that so many visitors came to our first Craft Fair – we had no idea how popular it would be!
“We also had many compliments about the quality of the art and craftwork for sale. So we are looking forward to our second craft fair. It was a great opportunity for local artisans to sell their wares and for everyone else to start shopping for Christmas gifts!”
