Pedestrian killed in Gateshead truck collision

[P]olice have confirm they are dealing with a fatal collision in Gateshead.

The collision involving a truck and pedestrian happened at just after 11.15am on Durham Road, a short distance from its junction with Belle Vue Bank.

The driver of the truck, a 51-year-old man is currently helping police with their enquiries. Diversions are in place and people are asked to avoid the area.

Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information which could assist police are asked to call 101, quoting 330 of 14/11/17.
