[A] MAN sought by police in connection with violence which flared at a city bookmaker’s has appeared in court.
Cumbria police issued a public appeal last month to trace John Michael Hull. A spokesman said the 42-year-old was wanted in connection with incidents at Carlisle’s Coral store on Blackwell Road, and at nearby Almery Drive.
These were said to have occurred on Friday, July 28.
Hull appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (WED), when he pleaded guilty to an affray on that date. His barrister, Neil Ronan, requested the preparation of a background report before Hull, of Springkell, Aspatria, is sentenced.
The Honourable Mr Justice Turner agreed, and adjourned the case until December 4.
Hull will receive his punishment on that date. In the meantime he was remanded in custody by the judge.
