[M]ore than £7,800 was raised for local good causes at the 2017 Carlisle Fireshow (Saturday, 4 November).
A large crowd attended the biggest and best Fireshow in the North and made sure it was a sparkling success. The event was the 30th Fireshow staged by Carlisle City Council. The centre piece was a giant bonfire with a giant box of fireworks.
The £7,879.63 collected on the night will benefit the Rotary Club of Carlisle (South) and the Mayor’s Charity Fund whose main beneficiaries this year are: Carlisle Eden Mind, Royal British Legion – Carlisle & Stanwix Branch and Samaritans Carlisle.
The presentation of the cheque to Rotary South, in the sum of £3,939.82, will take place at the Civic Centre on Tuesday 28 November.
In excess of 35,000 people attended the City Council event, organised in conjunction with Merlin Fireworks Ltd.
