[A] MAN is due to be sentenced next month for two assaults on a woman in Kendal.
Stuart Barwise, 33, admitted the crimes when he appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
Barwise pleaded guilty to assaulting Katie Murray, causing her actual bodily harm, between 1st and 4th October. The prosecution say this involved a headbutt. Barwise also admitted a separate charge of assaulting Ms Murray, by beating, on 15th October.
Both offences are said to have taken place at an address in Kendal.
Claire Brocklebank, defending, said Barwise had admitted twice assaulting Ms Murray on a basis which relates to how both of the incidents began. “On both occasions there was a two-way argument with physical contact on both sides – meaning the complainant and defendant,” said Miss Brocklebank.
Barwise had also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, in Kendal, on 17th October.
Judge Barbara Forrester adjourned the case until 18th December, when Barwise, of no fixed address, is due to be sentenced.
In the meantime he was remanded in custody by Judge Forrester.
