[P]olice have confirmed that a man died in a collision which took place at 3.28pm on Sunday 26 November 2017 on the A66 near West Layton.
The collision occurred at the A66 junction with Collier Lane and involved a white Renault Premium HGV truck, a silver Seat Ibiza and a black Nissan Qashqai.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “The driver of the Qashqai, 77-year-old Raymond Parkinson from Hartlepool sadly died at the scene.
“Mr Parkinson’s family have all been informed and are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
“The driver of the HGV, a 33-year-old man from Motherwell was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.”
