[A] FEMALE who bit a woman in the face in her own home has been handed an 11-month jail term.
Kimberly Riley, 26, sank her teeth into Lisa Bolton’s cheek during a violent attack inside the victim’s Cleator Moor address. Riley left her bruised and in pain, with a bite mark on her face and feeling self-conscious about an injury she inflicted on June 22.
Carlisle Crown Court heard the incident occurred after Riley had embarked on a three-day drugs binge. Trouble flared over a £10 debt said to have been owed by Miss Bolton, who had also disarmed her unwanted visitor of a hammer.
Riley was sentenced having admitted a charge of assault, occasioning actual bodily harm.
She was said to have served more than five months in custody on remand, regretted her actions and wanted to apologise to her victim.
Riley, previously c/o Purser Road, Workington, was given an immediate jail term. Recorder Julie Clemitson noted the defendant was likely to be released in the “very near future” and then made subject to a licence and supervision period.
“She should have been able to feel safe in her own home,” Recorder Clemitson said of Miss Bolton.
