[A] man has appeared from custody by a video-link at Carlisle magistrates court accused of attempted burglary with intent to steal from the Alston Pharmacy on September 26, when he allegedly attempted to enter the premises as a trespasser, the court heard there was considerable damage caused.
Stephen Anthony Jackson, 48, was living at a flat in Alston at the times of these alleged offences, he also faces two-allegations of burglary – theft from September 26, from the Alston Medical Practice when medication was stolen and another allegation from October 1, that he allegedly stole medication from the surgery.
He is also accused of the theft of three-antique clocks from the Alston Clock shop between September 25 and 26.
During today’s hearing, no plea was entered.
District Judge Gerald Chalk remanded Jackson in custody and sent the case to be heard at Carlisle Crown Court on January 5, 2018
