[A] Carlisle woman who had an argument while visiting the Probation Service office on Lowther Street on April 25, has appeared before magistrates in the city, and pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour and using abusive/insulting words or behaviour – a public order offence.
The court heard how Miss Lisa Marie Nugent, 26, came across another female [not a member of staff] that was known to her and Nugent made verbal threats to the female which included “I’m going to kill you, your dead and then said she had people watching the victim”.
Prosecutor John Moran told the court that the victim was upset over this unpleasant incident, but she didn’t fear that the threats would be carried out.
The court was told Miss Nugent has on-going health problems and she was a victim of a violent attack recently, before passing sentence the chairman of the bench said, Nugent made verbal threats including violence and the Probation Office is no place for a shouting match, she was sentenced to a 4-week electronically tagged house curfew between 7pm and 7am at an address on Brookside Place, Raffles, Carlisle, with court costs to pay totalling £170.
