[T]WO men accused of a Christmas Day assault in Cockermouth have appeared in court.
Neil Stephen Johnston, 42, and Kenny Stilgoe, 30, face one charge following an alleged incident on December 25 last year.
At Carlisle Crown Court today (FRI), both men pleaded not guilty to an allegation of assaulting Callum Marrs, causing actual bodily harm.
During a brief hearing in front of Judge James Adkin, a trial date was fixed for the week of February 26 next year.
The trial is expected to last two to three days.
In the meantime Johnston, of Lonsdale Close, Crosby Villa, near Maryport, and Stilgoe, of Firlands, Carlisle, were each granted bail by Judge Adkin.
