[C]umbria Police, along with the North West Ambulance Service were called shortly prior to 8am this morning to a report of a vehicle having left the road and hit a tree on the A591 between the Castle Inn and Bothel.
The driver of the car involved – a blue Toyota Yaris – is a 23-year-old man from the Wigton area. He has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary at Carlisle suffering from suspected back injuries.
The road remains closed at this time whilst collision investigation work is undertaken but is expected to re-open early this afternoon.
