[A] woman is fighting for her life after her car careered down a ravine and into a stream.
Emergency Services were called at approx 4:50pm on Friday 8 December after a red Hyundai iX20 left the A592 just prior to Glenridding.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and Patterdale MRT rescued the woman from the car.
A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The vehicle was being driven by an 85-year-old local woman who sustained serious injuries. She was flown from the scene by air ambulance to the Preston Royal Infirmary where she is described as being in a critical condition.”
