[A] MAN who committed class A drugs supply crimes in Carlisle after his brother was shot by a gangster has been jailed for more than two years.
Debt-ridden Guisat Henriet, 20, travelled to an address in the city’s Denton Holme earlier this year to work off £2,000 of arrears he had accrued. He did so on the back of a “warning” after his brother was shot in the leg by a gang member and drug dealer. Henriet agreed under duress to transport illicit substances to Carlisle, and then return south with the proceeds.
But his illegal errands were uncovered by police who called at the Randall Street property on August 24. Heroin, crack cocaine and cannabis were found, along with cash, packaging and weighing scales. Analysis of mobile phones which were also located proved crucial in establishing his criminal involvement, Carlisle Crown Court heard.
Henriet, of Stanhope Street, London, was sentenced having previously admitted conspiracy to supply the three drugs, and possessing criminal property.
He was jailed for 27 months by Judge James Adkin. The judge heard Henriet had been hoping to start a university business studies course, and was committed to leading a law-abiding life in the future.
