[A] MAN will be sentenced by a judge three days before Christmas after he admitted three cannabis crimes.
Darren John Hewer, 38, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (TUES).
Hewer pleaded guilty to producing cannabis on July 7. He also admitted possessing the class B drug, with intent to supply it to another, on two separate dates in May.
No details about Hewer’s crimes were outlined. However, the court heard the valuation of the cannabis seized – including 10 plants – was put at between £4,000 and £5,000.
Hewer was said to have submitted a basis for his guilty pleas.
Recorder Julie Clemitson adjourned the case, and asked the probation service to prepare a background report on Hewer, of Esk Avenue, Whitehaven.
He was told by Recorder Clemitson he would receive his punishment at the crown court on Friday of this week.
In the meantime he was granted bail.
