[A] WOMAN who stabbed a female several times at an address in Carlisle has been warned she faces a “substantial” jail term.
Jane Kirkpatrick pleaded guilty to one offence when she appeared at the city’s crown court earlier today (WED). Kirkpatrick, 29, admitted wounding Danielle Nicholson with intent on October 8.
She is said to have stabbed Miss Nicholson a number of times at a house in Boundary Road, Currock, at around 5am. The victim is said to have received hospital treatment for wounds to the legs.
The court heard Kirkpatrick had a previous wounding with intent conviction. As a result, Judge Peter Hughes QC adjourned the case and asked for a probation service assessment of whether Kirkpatrick poses a significant risk of serious harm to the general public.
“Whatever the case, I am afraid to say that you have the prospect of serving a substantial sentence of imprisonment,” Judge Hughes told her.
Kirkpatrick, of Greta Avenue, Carlisle, was remanded in custody. She is due to be sentenced at the crown court on February 9.
