Police probe Penrith purse theft

Police are appealing for witnesses to a theft from a woman in Penrith.

It is reported to have occurred on Monday 18th December 2017, between 3:15pm and 3:30pm in the MIND charity shop, Angel Lane.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said: “The offender has reached into the lone shopper’s open handbag and stolen her purse from within.

“This has been an opportunistic theft from someone who has had their stamps and gift cards for Christmas shopping stolen.”
