[P]olice are still appealing for information following a robbery in Egremont where jewellery was stolen from an elderly woman.
The incident occurred at a property on Whitegate at approximately 9.25pm yesterday (21st December).
Two offenders have knocked on the door of the property before entering the house. They have then demanded money before grabbing a gold chain from the victim’s neck. This caused the victim to fall out of her wheelchair as the offenders made off. The victim, aged 81, suffered minor injuries.
The two men – aged 22 and 23, both from Egremont, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, they have been released under investigation.
Detective Chief Inspector Roy Ledingham, West Cumbria CID, said: “We are still looking for any information in relation to this offence, and appeal to the public to come forward.”
