Sharon Hamnett with her son and daughter

[T]he family of a woman who died in a collision in Miles Platting have paid tribute to her.

Shortly before 9pm on Monday 25 December 2017, a pedestrian was crossing Oldham Road at the pelican crossing, close to the junction of Naylor Street.

The pedestrian was involved in a collision with a car, which failed to stop at the scene and continued along Oldham Road.

The woman was taken to hospital where she sadly died a short time later.

She has since been formally identified as 44-year-old Sharon Hamnett.

Sharon’s family said: “We can’t even put into words how we feel other than complete emptiness, we are absolutely broken.

“We know you’re going to guide us in the right direction and make sure we stay strong. We will continue to make you the proudest mum in the world.

“We love and miss you so much!

“Rest in paradise beautiful.”
