Police appeal after Carlisle fire

[P]olice are appealing for witnesses following a small fire, on a street, in Carlisle.

The incident occurred between 1:30am and 2:30am, on Friday, 5th January, 2018, on Nelson Street, Carlisle. The fire started in amongst rubbish, directly outside a home.

The fire was extinguished by the Fire Service. A gas meter sustained damage in the incident.

Police are investigating the circumstances around how the fire was started, and are appealing for anyone with any information to contact police on 101.
