Woman charged with murder after body found in Stockport garden

A woman has been charged with the murder of a man in Stockport.

Barbara Coombes (15/07/54) of Matlock Road has been charged with murder, preventing the lawful and decent burial of a dead body, fraud by false representation and obtaining a pecuniary advantage.

She remains in custody and is due to appear before Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 11 January 2018.

On Sunday 7 January 2018, a woman presented herself at Cheadle Heath Police Station and disclosed that she had killed a man a number of years ago.

An investigation was launched and on Tuesday 9 January 2018, officers searching a property in Reddish found the body of a man.
