Cross Country Success for St Benedict’s Students

St Benedict’s Students Grace Houghton, Ebony Blackwell & Laya McKendrey

[L]ast week, thirteen students from St Benedict’s School took part in the County Cross Country Championships at Cartmel Racecourse.

Mia Easthope was the major success on the day, qualifying though to the Northern Schools Inter County fixture next month. Below are the full results:

Year 7

  • Ebony Blackwell (17th)
  • Grace Houghton (49th)
  • Laya McKendry (52nd)
  • Shane Tyson (23rd)
  • Leo Merrin (38th)
  • Harley Cueto (68th)
  • Robbie Swinburn (70th)

Year 8

  • Leanna Giles (26th)
  • Eve Riley (38th)

Year 11

  • Mia Easthope (5th)
  • Thomas Houghton (25th)
  • Owen Woods (41st)

Mr Lambert, PE Teacher at the school, said: “It was a great effort by all the students on a tough course in blustery conditions.”
