[F]ultons Lakes Jewellery Works in Keswick has announced that from the 8 February 2018, visitors to the cultural attraction will be able to view a brand-new exhibition by Cumbrian Artist of the Year Celia Burbush.
The exhibition will showcase examples of Celia’s work that has been inspired from a series of interviews with people exploring their memories and dreams based on the idea of ‘home’. The work recently won Celia the title of ‘C-art Cumbrian Artist of the Year 2017’. The paintings depicting landscapes, architecture and figures in dreamlike scenes have been created in ink, acrylic and watercolour.
Zoe Fulton owner of Fultons Lakes Jewellery Works says; “We feel extremely privileged to be working with Celia to open our first exhibition here at Fultons and are excited to be hosting such an inspiring collection of artwork for all to admire in our gallery space. Celia’s work beautifully complements the work we create here in Keswick and we look forward to sharing the creativity with our clients during the exhibition.”
Celia Burbush is a Fine Art-trained painting and drawing specialist with an expanded practice that is rooted in socially-engaged art and participation. She is most interested in the arts as a catalyst for new shared connections and thinking amongst communities. Since 2004, whilst continuing to exhibit and fulfil commissions, she has chosen to develop her work in collaboration with the diverse communities of Cumbria. She has created and delivered many long-term transformational arts-in-health projects over the years and would like to base a future Phd on her experiences.
Celia Burbush says; “I’m really looking forward to bringing my work to a cultural attraction that celebrates artistic excellence and style, as well as having links to and a deep interest in, traditional crafts, education and the industrial heritage of Keswick. I’m also inspired by the team at Fultons, who together, are able to work with clients to literally makes their dreams come true, turning their initial ideas into real pieces of jewellery.”
