[D]etectives have launched an investigation after the body of a man was found in Bacup.
Police were called around 10.15am yesterday (Tuesday, January 30) by the Ambulance Service following reports a body had been found in a stream off Deansgreave Road.
Officers attended and the body of a 31-year-old man was found at the scene. He has since been named as Gary Roscoe.
The death is currently being treated as suspicious.
Following investigation, a 32-year-old man from Haslingden has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is in custody.
Detectives are appealing for information and urging anyone who can assist with their enquiries to come forward.
Det Supt Neil Ashton, of Lancashire Police, said: “These are tragic circumstances and my thoughts are with Mr Roscoe’s family and friends at this time.
“They are currently being supported by specially trained officers.
“Our enquiries are on-going and while we have made an arrest, I would continue to appeal to anyone who may have information which could assist officers to call us.”
