[A]t 1:06pm, today, Thursday 1 February two fire engines from Carlisle West and Wigton went to the B5305 Sebergham to assist with a horse who had its leg trapped in its horse box.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival firefighters waited for a vet to sedate the horse in order for crews to use small tools to cut around the horses leg to enable it to be released.”
