[A] MAN and woman have denied an allegation of aggravated burglary which arises out of an incident in Kendal.
Peter Christopher Hall, 36, and 27-year-old Katie Anne Murray, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (FRI).
They each pleaded not guilty to an aggravated burglary charge.
This alleges that they entered a property at Kendal’s Greengate Road as trespassers on January 3, and attempted to inflict grievous bodily harm on Liam Baxter.
The charge further alleges that at the time of committing the alleged burglary they had with them a “weapon of offence” – a bat.
A trial, which is estimated to last three to four days, was listed for June 12 by Judge James Adkin. The judge directed that Hall, of Lound Road, and Murray, of Spital Park, both Kendal, must attend a further court hearing before the trial, in late-May.
In the meantime Murray was granted conditional bail while Hall was remanded in custody.
