[A] PENRITH man who attacked his on-off partner with a piece of wood has been jailed.
David John Williamson lashed out at Daisy Godolphin after she allowed him to stay at her town home – despite him being banned from contacting her in any way.
Carlisle Crown Court heard how 40-year-old Williamson twice threw Miss Godolphin to the floor on January 4, causing her to collide with a fridge-freezer and damaging a unit. He also grabbed her around the throat and hit her over the head with a piece of wood, causing a small cut.
Police were called and Williamson, of Griffin Yard, Corn Market, was arrested.
At court today he admitted assaulting Miss Godolphin, causing her actual bodily harm, and damaging property. He also admitted what was his fifth breach of a previously-imposed restraining order which prohibits him from contacting her indefinitely.
Judge James Adkin, who heard how the on-off relationship was now over, jailed Williamson for 13 months.
