M6 southbound reopen after crash at Penrith

Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the M6 southbound at J40 Penrith.

Police were called at 3:51pm.

The M6 is was blocked southbound after police stopped all traffic.

There are reports of long delays on the M6 with congestion also affecting the A66 and M6 northbound.

Update: All lanes have now reopened after the vehicles were moved to the hard shoulder.
