[A] MAN who vowed to kill his ex-partner after smashing his way into a Lake District address has been jailed.
Jacek Mariusz But, 36, broke through two doors and was “covered in blood” when he yelled abuse and threatened to take the life of his terrified ex-girlfriend in Ambleside on the morning of January 20.
The woman, whose six-month relationship with But had ended over Christmas, fled the property in pyjamas and slippers, and had been left “anxious” and “jittery” by the ordeal.
At Carlisle Crown Court today (THURS), But, of The Slack, Ambleside, was jailed for 20 months. He admitted threatening to kill his ex-partner, and illegal possession of a lock knife. The four-inch blade had been used to help smash a door but was otherwise kept in his pocket during the incident.
But, described as “deeply remorseful”, was also banned from contacting his ex in any way indefinitely.
“You acted in a way which was extremely violent,” Judge James Adkin told him. “You were out of control.”
