[T]he Farmer Network is inviting farmers to find out more about willow’s potential to provide a diversified income and its role in reducing flood risk at two events on:
Tuesday 27th February 2018 at Askew Rigg, Troutbeck, Penrith, CA11 0SZ
and
Thursday 1st March 2018 at Braithwaite farm, Braithwaite, Keswick, CA12 5RY
BOTH EVENTS START AT 11am
Willow is a low input, low maintenance crop which can be grown on marginal land providing a potential diversification income. These events are an opportunity to learn more about the practicalities and economics of growing and harvesting willow and its role in Natural Flood Management. The events will start with a tour of the willow plantation followed by lunch and presentations from Neil Watkins of Iggesund and Caitlin Pearson of West Cumbria Rivers Trust.
