[T]WO men who deny blackmail and burglary allegations are to go on trial before a jury.
Vincent Paul Jackson and Jordan Joseph Taylor, both aged 34, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
Jackson and Taylor each denied two blackmail charges which arise out of alleged criminal conduct between early October and late January. It is alleged they made unwarranted demands “with menaces” to a male – both for £1,000 and also that he should “supply controlled drugs to others”.
Jackson, of Haweswater Close, and Taylor, of Kramar Walk, both Liverpool, also pleaded not guilty to the alleged burglary of a house in Distington, on January 26, and theft of a key.
Their trial, estimated to last around three days, is due to start at the crown court on July 9.
In the meantime, Jackson was remanded in custody by Judge James Adkin, while Taylor was granted bail.
