[A] Carlisle woman has been ordered to pay compensation of £5,085 after pleading guilty to a fraud offence.
Julie Anne McGuiness, 42, of Metcalfe Street, Dentonholme appeared at Carlisle magistrates Court.
The court was told how she committed fraud by dishonestly making a false representation between June 1, 2016 and May 10, 2017 by using a debit card belonging to another person on online gambling sites, she also used the person’s details to set up accounts, with a catalogue of agencies running up debts thereafter, intending to make a financial gain for yourself.
McGuiness was committed to prison for 26-weeks, suspended for 18-months, during the 18-months she will be under the supervision of the Probation Service and participate in a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement or any activity as requested by them for 20-days and to carry out 70-hours unpaid work.
