[T]wo woman from Surrey have appeared at court today (28th February) following a proactive police stop resulting in cannabis resin valued at over £500,000 and £1,000 in cash seized by officers.
Wendy Prince, aged 55, of Oyster Lane, Byfleet, and Joanne Penfold, aged 48, of Arnewood Close, Leatherhead, were both charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis resin.
Both were remanded at North Cumbria Magistrates’ Court today and will next appear at Carlisle Crown Court on 3rd April.
Both women were arrested by officers after the vehicle they were travelling in was stopped on the M6 near Carlisle yesterday afternoon (27th February).
