[A] MAN has admitted burgling a Kendal scrap metal dealership and stealing goods worth around £3,000.
Joseph Ridsdale, 20, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON). During a short hearing in front of Judge James Adkin, Ridsdale pleaded guilty to the burglary of Kendal Scrap Metal dealers, Beezon Road trading estate.
The charge states that the crime took place on March 1 last year, and that scrap metal and tools were stolen. Those items taken during the night-time raid are said by the prosecution to be worth in the region of £3,000.
Judge Adkin adjourned the case to seek more information from the probation service about Ridsdale’s progress since being released from custody for a violence offence.
Anthony Parkinson, defending, said in a brief address to the judge: “To put it blunty, they might have something good to say about him.”
Ridsdale, of Hope Street, Accrington, was granted bail by Judge Adkin, and told he would be sentenced at the crown court for the burglary later this month.
