[A] SOUTH Cumbria man accused of child sex offending has been told he will stand trial later this year.
Steven Airey, 50, pleaded not guilty to all five charges which were put to him at Carlisle Crown Court today (MON).
Airey denied three alleged indecent assaults of a teenage girl. He further denied one count alleging indecency with a child, and also an allegation of sexual activity with a child. Both of these charges are said to involve the same female complainant.
The five charges date back to the 2000s.
Airey, of Hall Road, Burneside, near Kendal, will go on trial in front of a jury at the crown court.
The hearing, estimated to last three to four days, is due to start on July 23.
In the meantime, Airey was remanded in custody.
