[T]he fifth annual Northern Stallion Showcase is attracting entries from studs across the country, ensuring that breeders will once again enjoy the opportunity to individually evaluate a large number of stallions ahead of the main breeding season.
Hosted once again at Newton Rigg College Equestrian Centre and supported by Baileys Horse Feeds, whose team will provide expert nutritional advice to visitors at the event, this year’s Showcase takes place on Saturday April 7th.
Amongst the studs with stallions entered to date, Barrowby Connemaras, based in North Yorkshire, will present four Connemara stallions. Stud Manager Frankie Lee commented; “Barrowby Connemaras are really looking forward to attending for our third year with our Connemara stallions. The Northern Stallion Showcase has always been a great ‘go-to’ event for our northern customers old and new, to see the stallions perform and meet them in the stables, which is a great opportunity for mare owners to consider temperament alongside performance.”
Showcasing stallions for the first time is Gornall Equestrian and Jamie Gornall confirmed; “We are looking forward to attending the Northern Stallion Showcase and presenting our jumping stallions to breeders close to our North Yorkshire base. We are taking two stallions who both are great types with fantastic bloodlines; one more established and one who is younger up and coming. Both have been competing internationally and enjoying success in the sport.”
