[A]st Signs Limited, known as one of the most innovative fleet branding businesses in the UK, is drawing on its 15 years of experience in transport branding and numerous successful rail projects to formally launch a brand new division. Ast Rail will offer graphics solutions for both passenger and freight rail sectors and will bring transparency, value for money and a vibrant new approach to the rail industry.
Ast Rail will be headed up by Director of Rail Gareth Livingstone, who has been part of Ast Signs for 13 years. Together with a new dedicated and highly experienced rail team, Gareth will manage the production and conversion of rail graphics at its purpose-built HQ and manufacturing hub in Cumbria, along with a UK and Europe-wide network of specially trained rail operatives for train preparation and refurbishment, logistics, fitting and painting services.
Gareth said: “Ast has long been known as something of a disrupter within the transport branding industry and we are now bringing our innovative approach to the rail sector, but ensuring it is heavily underpinned with exceptional safety credentials, the latest rail compliant materials, rail specific training for all our operatives and a vast amount of experience within both the transport and rail industries.
“It is our intention to offer credible alternative solutions, transparent pricing and outstanding quality and we are incredibly excited about what we can now bring to the rail sector going forward.”
The dynamic company has engaged the services of Rail Graphics Specialist Paul McGlone to support Ast Rail. With more than 15 years of experience in the rail graphics sector, Paul is renowned for his rail knowledge and strategic planning skills.
Paul said: “I feel that Ast Rail is introducing an incredibly refreshing approach and will provide a highly desirable alternative to the conventional livery and branding companies. Ast Rail’s unique culture and its strategy of disruption without compromising on safety, compliance or flexibility, will be a welcome shock for the whole industry.”
The team will be supported by Ast’s Commercial Director Adam Wellings and Derek Hughes, who will act as Projects Director for Ast Rail. Derek specialises in site operations and will oversee health and safety, body preparation, painting and removal and installation of vinyl.
