[A]ldi and Teenage Cancer Trust are calling on Cumbrians to help them raise money for local teens and young adults with cancer.
Teenage Cancer Trust provides care and support for young people from across Cumbria aged 13 to 24 diagnosed with cancer.
The charity is looking for volunteers to help them with bucket collections in Aldi stores across the country on Saturday 24 March and Sunday 25 March.
Aldi joined forces with Teenage Cancer Trust in a unique partnership in January 2017, with the goal of raising £5m over five years. They are well on track, with Aldi stores and regional distribution centres across the UK having raised £1.2m already for the charity.
Louise Miles, Teenage Cancer Trust’s fundraising manager for Cumbria and the North East, said: “We are hugely grateful for the support Aldi has shown us so far, and to all Aldi’s customers and staff who’ve come together to raise this sum.
“This money will be used to ensure teenagers and young people with cancer get the best treatment, care and support – and ultimately ensure that no young person faces cancer alone.
“Last year, a smaller scale fundraising day across eight Aldi stores raised more than £2,000, so we are very excited about the potential of the Aldi takeover event this month, with access to every Aldi store in the country.”
Teenage Cancer Trust are looking for volunteers who are able to help out from 10am to 1pm or 1pm to 4pm on either Saturday 24 March or Sunday 25 March. Please email [email protected] for more information or to volunteer. Volunteers need to register in advance so please get in touch by Monday 19 March if you would like to take part.
